A Most Valuable Player on the New York Mets Award given to shortstop Roy McMillan by Howard Clothes in 1965. The inscription on the 30" tall trophy reads: The Howard Award - to Roy McMillan Mr. Shortstop - Elected Most Valuable Player New York Mets 1965 - Presented by Howard Clothes - October 2, 1965 - at Shea Stadium. The trophy is in nice condition despite a few nicks and scratches. McMillan was a sterling defender (3 career Gold Glove Awards) for the Mets at shortstop. During the 1965 season, he hit .242 with 1 home run, 44 runs scored, and 42 RBIs.
