A Louisville Slugger Black Bat created to commemorate the retirement of Charlie Gehringer's number 2 and Hank Greenberg's number 5. The franchise did not retire their first number until the 1980 season when Al Kaline was given the honor. Greenberg and Gehringer were next in line three years later. These bats are rare and very exclusive as they were only given out to players and team executives. The item features Greenberg and Gehringer's signatures on the barrel. A gold plate has also been affixed to the barrel which reads: "Numbers 2 and 5 retired, June 12th, 1983, Detroit Tigers." The bat is in high-grade condition.
