Presented is a circa 1931 Jimmie Foxx signed baseball that also has the signatures of three other members of the '31 Athletics, the American League pennant winners: Mule Haas, Jimmy Dykes, and Jim Peterson. Foxx signed with a beautiful signature on the sweet spot, and the ball displays as single-signed. Hall of Famer Foxx played 20 Major League seasons, mainly with the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox. He finished his career with 534 home runs, and he was the second player in history to reach 500 homers - Babe Ruth was the first. Foxx, known as The Beast or Double-X, is often considered the second-best first baseman of all time - behind Lou Gehrig. He was a 3-time AL MVP, won the AL Triple Crown in 1933, and batted .325 lifetime. George "Mule" Haas was a center fielder who played in the Major Leagues from 1925-38, mostly for the Philadelphia Athletics. He batted a career .292, and along with Jimmie Foxx and Jimmy Dykes, was a member of the Philadelphia Athletics' dynasty that won three pennants in a row (1929-31) and the '29 & '30 World Series. Jimmy Dykes was a third baseman who played 22 Major League seasons, mostly with the Philadelphia Athletics, and later became a famous Major League manager. Jim Peterson was a relief pitcher on the '31 Athletics. The four signatures on "The New Official League Ball" were written in blue steel-tip fountain pen. The last name of Dykes has been later enhanced in an unknown hand. The ball exhibits some minor darkening, but it is in near mint condition. The offering comes with a JSA LOA.
