Official program issued for Mickey Mantle Day, held on September 18, 1965, at Yankee Stadium, beautifully signed on the cover in black ink (grading 9/10) by Mickey Mantle. Accompanied by a one-page typed letter, dated October 19, 1965, signed by Robert O. Fishel, Vice President of Public Relations for the Yankees. In his letter, on Yankees letterhead, Fishel responds to the original recipient of this program, who wrote to the Yankees requesting one. Fishel informs him that since the club collected and saved all the leftover programs from that day, the Yankees are happy to send it to him free of charge. Obviously, the original owner later had the good fortune to meet Mantle and have him sign it, making the program all the more desirable to collectors. The program (8.5x11.25") displays a few light surface wrinkles and tiny edge tears along the top border. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. The letter (7.25x10.5") displays two horizontal mailing folds and is in Excellent to Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA.
