Magnificent vintage team photo of the 1950 World Champion New York Yankees. The black-and-white photo measures 10x8.25" and pictures the squad in team pose in the outfield, presumably of Yankee Stadium, in front of the right-field stands. There is a full wire service caption affixed to the back, however it has been folded into the PSA encapsulation and only the blank side is visible. Pencil notation on verso - written in French - notes that the Yankees are in preparation for the World Series. Photo is crisp and clear and taken at an angle which allows for a more close-up look at the players. The '50 Bronx Bombers captured the American League pennant by three games over the Detroit Tigers with a 98-56 record. Though they swept the Philadelphia Phillies in that year's series, it was actually closer than meets the eye, with the first three games decided by one run and the Yanks closing out with a 5-2 win in Game 4 at Yankee Stadium. Encapsulated by PSA as TYPE I AUTHENTIC.
