Presented is a circa 1910 original Type I photograph of Cleveland Naps' pitcher Addie Joss, a Hall of Famer. A 6'3" right-hander, Adrian "Addie" Joss had a slim frame that caused him to be known as "The Human Hairpin." He pitched solely for the American League's Cleveland Bronchos, later known as the "Naps" for their player-manager Napoleon Lajoie, from 1902-10. He pitched only nine Major League seasons because he died in 1911 after contracting tuberculosis meningitis. The Hall of Fame waived the normally required ten-season Major League minimum so that Joss could be posthumously inducted in 1977. He had a lifetime record of 160-97, with a career 1.89 ERA, the second lowest in Major League history. He led the AL in ERA 2-times and was the AL leader in wins in 1907 when he went 27-11. Joss was a tremendous pitcher who threw two no-hitters, one a perfect game. This is a very rare photo of him, dressed in his away Cleveland uniform, as he is about to let loose a pitch on the sidelines. The photo has some folds in the top right corner, a small piece of the lower right corner has been cut off, and there is some tiny paper loss along the right-side border. The 6.7x8.3" photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as Type I AUTHENTIC.
