Original panoramic photograph capturing Cleveland Municipal Stadium under construction in 1931. The photo captures the stadium from the perspective of the centerfield bleachers and shows the steel framework almost completed for the main grandstand area, as well as the wooden seats being installed in the visible bleacher areas. The white-lettered caption at the base reads "Cleveland Stadium Feb. 4, 1931." The photographer's credit "Gus A. Fretter Cleveland, O." appears in the lower left. When completed later that year, Cleveland Municipal Stadium had the largest seating capacity (78,189) for any stadium in the country. Beginning that year, the Stadium was home to the Cleveland Indians and later (1947) the Cleveland Browns. The photo (36.24x8") displays a few light vertical creases that in no way detract from its overall Excellent appearance. Mounted (by means of photo corners) and framed to total dimensions of 42x14".
