Original Type I photograph of Boston Red Sox catcher Bill Carrigan, taken by noted baseball photographer Paul Thompson, used in the production of Carrigan's 1911 T205 Gold Border tobacco card. The closeup facial study pictures Carrigan as he gazes to the left of the camera. A portion of Thompson's credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with Carrigan's name, position, and team affiliation. A small white label has been affixed to the upper left corner of the reverse. The photo (4.25x4.25"), which has been trimmed to its current dimensions, displays a small amount of white paint along the base of the reverse; otherwise it remains in Excellent condition.
