Vintage photo of legendary Notre Dame coach Knute Rockne originates from the famed Brown Brothers photo archive. Measuring 8x10", the black and white image remains in VG/EX condition with some bends to the corners, and the winningest coach in college football history is shown holding a dog; back has pencil notation reading "Knute Rockne & Mascot," consistent with the fact that the Fighting Irish did have a dog (generally an Irish Terrier, of course) as mascot in the '20s and '30s. Back also has editors notes in pencil along with Brown Brothers stamps and one from Esquire. This specific image was made in the 1930s off a duplicate negative featuring an image originally taken in the 1920s; as such, the PSA encapsulation notes this as a Type IV AUTHENTIC example, though it remains nearly a century old in its own right.
