Vintage wire photo, dated 7/2/49, capturing Jackie Robinson sliding safely into third base during a game against the Giants at the Polo Grounds. As noted in the accompanying PSA LOA, this image of Robinson was later featured on one of the thirteen cards issued in the circa 1947 Jackie Robinson Bond Bread card set. (After extensive research by members of the collecting community, it has been established that the thirteen-card set of Jackie Robinson Bond Bread cards was issued over a period of several years, beginning in 1947.) An International News Photo credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with two different 1949 date stamps, Robinson's typed name, and an affixed newspaper caption. The photo (8.25x6.25"), which has been unevenly trimmed to its current dimensions, displays moderate creases and both editorial markings and writing on the front. PSA encapsulated as Type III Authentic.
