Displayed is a "starting rotation" collection of four Presidential autographed baseballs. For many years, baseball teams had a starting rotation of four pitchers, and this offering presents a starting rotation of four Presidential autographs: two right-handers, Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, along with two port-siders, Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Nixon, a Republican, played football at Whitter College. He served as the President from 1969-74. He signed the sweet spot of an Official League ball in blue ink. The ball is in excellent condition. Gerald Ford, a Republican, was a star center/linebacker at Michigan, and he anchored the Wolverines' undefeated National Champions of both 1932-33. He served as President from 1974-77. Ford signed the sweet spot of an Official International League Ball in blue ink. One of the left-handers signing a ball was George Herbert Walker Bush, the 41st president of the United States, a Republican who served from 1989-93. He was a starting first baseman on the Yale University Baseball Team. He signed an Official Major League Baseball (Selig) in blue ink on the sweet spot. The other southpaw signing a ball was Democrat Bill Clinton. Often a maverick, Clinton chose to forego custom, and so he signed on a side panel rather than on the sweet spot. Clinton didn't play much baseball, but he did play saxophone. He served as President from 1993-2001. Clinton signed an Official Major League Baseball (Selig) in blue ink, but the signature, while legible, is very faint. The signatures rate a 7/10 overall. Included is a separate PSA LOA for both Bush and Clinton, a JSA LOA for Nixon, and a PSA COA for Ford.
