Official National League (Heydler) ball signed by Hall of Fame shortstop Rabbit Maranville. PSA has graded the ball GD 2. The signature has been graded VG 3 and the ball GD 2, for an overall grade of GD 2 (PSA can add or deduct a half point from the overall grade based upon eye appeal, hence the half-point deduction here). Maranville has inscribed the ball in black fountain pen, just to the left of the sweet spot, Best Wishes/from/Rabbit Maranville. This ball dates to the 1928-1933 manufacturing period, so it is almost certain that Maranville signed it during his playing career. Maranville single-signed balls are rare because he died on January 6, 1954, but wasn't inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame until August 9th of that year. Full LOA from PSA.
