One dollar silver certificate is signed on back by Babe Ruth. Silver certificates were issued as legal tender between 1878 and 1964, and closely resemble the familiar George Washington singles in circulation today; they're still accepted as legal tender for their face value though it is uncommon to find any in circulation. Series 1935 A is printed on the front to the right of Washington. On the back, above ONE is a blank spot, nowadays filled with "In God We Trust" (not added until 1955), in which the Bambino has added his exceptional signature in black fountain pen, ensuring that this is one bill which is worth far more than its face value. Encapsulated by JSA with an 8/10 grade.
