Pair of game used pucks and official scoresheets from 2002 Winter Olympics ice hockey in Salt Lake City, Utah. This represented the first Games held on American soil since the 1980 "Miracle on Ice," though Salt Lake had a very different feel with players from the National Hockey League allowed to participate. The pucks have Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake 2002 around the logo on one side, with Olympic rings in orange on the opposite. One of the two pucks displayed shows extensive wear, eroding the logos on both sides. Includes six (6) copies of the official statistics package from the Gold Medal game, played on February 24. Unlike the 1980 miracle, Team USA settled for the Silver Medal in a 5-2 defeat at the hands of a loaded Team Canada, with the likes of Paul Kariya, Jerome Iginla, and Joe Sakic hitting the net, and Martin Brodeur backstopping the win in goal. Lot also includes game notes from the preseason contest between the Los Angeles Kings and Colorado Avalanche on September 29, 2001. Superb provenance as our consignor was the equipment manager and worked the scorer's table for that final contest.
