Spalding "Official Pro League" baseball signed by Hall of Fame outfielder Roberto Clemente on a side panel. Clemente's signature has been scripted in black ink and grades 6/10. This ball has a special provenance. Our consignor, who was a teenager at the time, attended a Pirates spring training game with his family in 1968. Following the game, he noticed Clemente standing near the stands talking to some fans and, prodded by his father, summoned up the courage to approach Clemente and ask him for his autograph. Clemente was happy to oblige and signed both this ball and a Pirates spring-training roster (offered as a separate lot in this auction). The ball remains in Excellent to Mint condition. This is an outstanding Clemente single and one that is new to the hobby. Full LOA from JSA.
