If a collector in the hobby is going to specialize in limited-edition signed prints of baseball players at one position from one team, collecting LE signed prints from Hall of Fame New York Yankees center fielders is certainly a powerful choice. Presented is an offering consisting of just that: Five (5) signed limited-edition prints of Bronx Bombers HOF center fielders - Mickey Mantle (3) and Joe DiMaggio (2). 1) A Mickey Mantle artistic rendering by artist John Jodauga. LE number 131/1500, as written in pencil, by an unknown hand, on the print. The creation depicts a large, smiling Mantle at bat, and a smaller image of Mantle batting left-handed. The piece also has the image of a scroll, with "Mickey Mantle" on the scroll. The print is 17.6x23.5", framed to 18.2x24.2". Mantle has signed and inscribed the image of a baseball, using black ink from a fine tip marker, as "Mickey Mantle 31/300." As usual, Mantle's script is impeccable. 2) A 23x28" original collage creation, framed to 25x33" depicting key moments in Mantle's career, such as winning the Triple Crown, and belting a grand slam homer in the '53 World Series. Mantle signed in his trademark beautiful script, using a fine tip blue marker. Artist Robert Stephen Simon, who created countless paintings of Yankees in his career, and was personally friendly with Mickey Mantle and George Steinbrenner, signed the rendering and inscribed his work, in blue fine tip marker, as 11/300. 3) A Mickey Mantle print measuring 23.5x35.4", framed to 25.2x37". The print was created in 1990 by Geo Graphics, of Los Angeles, CA. Looking like a 1950s baseball card, the color print has a large image of Mantle smiling and a smaller image of him batting left-handed, both set against an orange background. Written in pencil by an unknown hand is the limited-edition number: 256/1000. Mantle signed the print, using a fine tip blue marker, scripting a big and bold signature. 4) What could be better than one DiMaggio? Three DiMaggios. But in this print, it's not the trio of DiMaggio Brothers outfielders: Joe, Dom, and Vince. But rather, it is three images of Joe DiMaggio, the Yankee Clipper. The largest image shows Joe, fielder's glove on his left hand, exuding a warm smile, and then there are two images of Joe batting. In the background is Yankee Stadium, with its iconic frieze on the top deck. The print measures 22.75x28.25", framed to 25x33". Artist John B. Martin has signed his print, as has Joe DiMaggio, both signing neatly, in pencil. Written in pencil, by an unknown hand, is the limited edition print number of 89/325. 5) The print is an artistic collage created by artist Robert Stephen Simon, well-known for his depictions of famous New York Yankees. The centerpiece of the creation is Joe DiMaggio, in his classic graceful follow through of his swing. Two smaller images of DiMaggio are in the collage, as well various newspaper headlines about Joltin' Joe. The print measures 22.75x28.25", framed to 25x33". DiMaggio signed the print with a flowing, big and bold signature in blue fine tip marker. Simon, the artist, neatly signed in fine tip black marker. An unknown hand inscribed the limited-edition number of 19/350, in fine tip black marker. The offering provides a great visual addition to any sports assemblage, as DiMaggio and Mantle signed prints are always magnets that draw rapt attention.
