Presented are seven (7) black & white, 1950-60s Boston Celtics Type I photos, some of which were used for trading cards. The photos are each approx. 8x10", and the name of each Celtics player is stamped on the back. 1) Sam Jones: A Hall of Fame shooting guard who played his entire career as a Boston Celtic. He averaged 17.7 PPG and was known as a clutch shooter who was on 10 NBA Champions, second only to Bill Russell in NBA history. 2) Bill Sharman: In the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach. A shooting guard, he was a 4-time NBA Champion with the Celtics as a player, averaging 17.8 PPG. As a coach, he won championships in the NBA, ABL, and the ABL. 3) Gene Conley (2): a 6'8" center and power forward, was with three Boston Celtics NBA Champions and was also a pitcher on the World Champion 1957 Milwaukee Braves. He is one of only 13 men to play both in the NBA and in Major League baseball. There are two different basketball photos of Conley. 4) Gary Phillips: A point guard and shooting guard, Phillips was on the 1961-62 NBA Champion Celtics. 5) Jim Loscutoff was a bruising, 6'5" small forward known for his rebounding and tough, physical play. Jungle Jim was a 7-time NBA Champion with the Celtics. 6) Tom "Satch" Sanders was a 6'6" power forward for Boston. He was a defensive specialist, and an 8-time NBA Champion with the Celtics, as a coach of the Celtics and Harvard University. He is a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee as a contributor. Some of the photos have tiny crinkles or very small folds along the borders. A few of the photos exhibit slight darkening. The seven photos make a nice group of Type I vintage, Boston Celtics photos.
