Displayed is a 1994 ticket stub to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, when the New York Rangers won the Stanley Cup, held at New York's Madison Square Garden on June 14th between the Rangers and the visiting Vancouver Canucks. The Rangers won the Series 4-3 in games, with the Game 7 score being 3-2 in favor of New York. Center Mark Messier was credited with the winning goal for the Rangers when he scored in the second period to give New York a 3-1 lead. After Trevor Linden scored his second goal of the game with 4:50 gone in the third period, the Rangers, behind goalie Mike Richter, held on to win. The Playoff MVP was Rangers defenseman Brian Leetch. The Stanley Cup victory marked the first time the Rangers had won the Stanley Cup in 54 years, a drought lasting from 1940. The ticket stub measures 2.8x5.8". In part, it reads, "STANLEY CUP FINALS FOURTH ROUND/Madison Square Garden HOME GAME 4." The ticket was for a $90.00 seat in Section 35. The stub has been encapsulated and PSA graded GOOD 2. Since the 1994 Stanley Cup triumph, the New York Rangers, despite having many good teams, have not won another Stanley Cup, another 40 years. So, this ticket stub marks the only time in the past 94 years that the New York Rangers have won the Stanley Cup.
