Collection of thirteen original film negatives and two color transparencies capturing Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris in 1961. Six picture the pair posing together, five capture Mantle alone in action during a game, and four capture Maris alone in action during a game. Of the posed shots, one pictures Mantle and Maris with Willie Mays, while another pictures the duo posing with Mrs. Babe Ruth. The two color transparencies (2.5x2.5") picture Mantle sliding into second base. The four individual Maris negatives are in the form of two uncut strips, each consisting of two 2.5x2.5 inches. Two additional negatives measuring 2.5x2.5 inches each picture Mantle at the plate during a game; otherwise the remaining negatives all measure 4x5 inches. (Please note: the 1961 year designation is based solely upon the dates listed on the vintage sleeves housing the individual items.) Also included is a duplicate negative picturing Maris hitting his 61st home run.
