Historic ticket stub from Game 1 of the 1983 Stanley Cup Finals, in which Wayne Gretzky appeared in the first of 31 final-round games in his illustrious career. Stub from the May 10 contest against the 3-time defending champ New York Islanders. Measuring 1.5x3.5", Northlands Coliseum stub has an erratic tear and some creasing, though the colors remain sharp. The Islanders prevailed by a 2-0 margin in that contest and would proceed to dominate in a four-game sweep, though The Great One and company would wait only one year for revenge, beating New York in a five-game series in '83-84 to touch off a string of five championships in a 7-year span. This is the only such stub in the PSA registry, and has been encapsulated with a grade of STUB PR 1.
