Located on the interior left front tail are a Rawlings 46 label, a flag tag reading "Set 1 1989," and second flag tag reading "EX" in black stitch. The jersey is original as issued and displays light wear, including a few light stains in the collar and on the front. Matt Williams, who had yet to break into the starting lineup for the Giants, appeared in 84 games in 1989, finishing the year with 18 home runs, 50 RBI, and a .202 batting average. One of the top sluggers in baseball during the 1990s, Williams retired after the 2003 season with 378 home runs, 1,218 RBI, and a .268 batting average.
