Burt Reynolds was the world's biggest box office star for five consecutive years (1978-82) in the yearly Top Ten Money Making Stars Poll, in which Reynolds tied a Bing Crosby record of being named the number one box office star for the most consecutive years. Offered is a Reynolds signed limited-edition lithograph poster that showcases, in a creative collage, some of his biggest movie roles, and also includes photos of his early life. Burt was born in 1936 in Michigan and later in his childhood moved to Florida. He earned a scholarship to the University of Florida as a running back. After playing freshman football, he was injured in his first varsity game as a sophomore, and later suffered additional injuries and his football career was truncated. Then, while taking courses at Palm Beach Junior College, Reynolds began acting in student stage productions. He later acted in stage productions in New York City and had roles in movies and television. Reynolds' big break came when he played the role of Lewis Medlock in the hit film Deliverance (1972). Also starring Ned Beatty, the movie depicts a group of city dwellers on a harrowing, terror-filled adventure on a backwoods river. Reynolds was now a full-fledged star. A photo of Reynolds, as Medlock, is featured on the lithograph. Other Reynolds photos from his hit films are a part of the lithograph: Smokey and the Bandit (1977), with Jackie Gleason and Sally Field, and The Longest Yard (1974), in which Reynolds uses his football skills to play a former pro player, now in prison, who organizes a football game pitting the prisoners against their guards. In his acting career, Reynolds, among numerous honors, received an Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards. He passed away in 2018. The lithograph measures 24x30". Using a fine tip black marker, in neatly written big and bold script, Reynolds signed the poster as, Warmly - Burt Reynolds. During the '70s and '80s, Burt Reynolds was a true American icon, and his brand of virile masculinity was a box office draw in the nature of the macho appeal of Marlon Brando. The lithograph is marked #166/2000. The poster is in excellent condition, and it comes with a PSA LOA for the signature. The presentation makes a terrific Burt Reynolds remembrance.
