Rare and colorful Brooklyn Dodgers silk scarf issued during the 1951 season. This is just the second example of this scarf we have ever offered and we cannot recall the last time we have seen another at auction. The design of the scarf (33x33"), which was illustrated by noted cartoonist Willard Mullin, features the Dodgers' legendary "Brooklyn Bum," images of Ebbets Field, a map of Brooklyn, and the first names of many team members, including "Jackie," "Roy," "Duke," "Pee Wee," and "Gil." Mullin's name and copyright ("1951") listed at the base of the "Brooklyn Bum." The scarf displays fold lines due to its manner of storage over the past seventy years and is otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition, looking much as it did in when issued in 1951.
