Displayed is a 1998 New York Yankees World Series press pin collection (4), from the '98 World Champions, and the second World's Championships of the Bronx Bombers' "Core Four Dynasty." Managed by Hall of Fame skipper Joe Torre, the '98 Yankees had an amazing regular season record of 144-48. The Bombers swept the AL Division Series, 3-0, against the Texas Rangers. The Yanks beat the Cleveland Indians 4-2 in games in the AL Championship Series and then swept the San Diego Padres in the World Series. The Yankees went on to win the World Series in '99 and 2000, making it four World Championships in five years. The New York team's Core Four players were with each of the foregoing Yankee champions. The '98 Core Four stats: Jorge Posada batted .268, with 17 homers and 63 RBIs; Hall of Famer Derek Jeter hit .324, with 19 dingers and 84 RBIs; Andy Pettitte went 16-11, with a 4.24 ERA; Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera was 3-0, with a 1.91 ERA and 36 saves. The four pins are identical. Each reads, "Yankees" in raised script and displays the classic Yankees red, white, and blue top hat logo. In a "banner" near the bottom of each pin is written "35th World Series." Each pin measures approx. 1x1.1", and with its plastic display box, each pin weighs approx. 0.70 ounces. The press pins are in EXCELLENT condition.
