Presented is a 1965 Harry "the Hat" Walker Pittsburgh Pirates' home white game jersey #3. Walker was the manager of the Pirates from 1965 until partway through the 1967 season, when he was replaced by Danny Murtaugh, making a return to managing Pittsburgh. The jersey is sleeveless. Pirates is sewn on the chest in ornate block, black letters with gold-colored trim. Below that, on the left chest, is 3 in a sewn-on black numeral with gold-colored trim. On the outside left tail is a Rawlings manufacturer's tag that shows size 44 and lists washing instructions. On the back is a sewn-on 3 in black with gold-colored trim. On the left inside tail are two tags: Dry cleaning instructions and a "Set 1 1965" flag tag. According to Wikipedia, Harry Walker wore #3 in 1965. However, according to Baseball Reference and Baseball Almanac, nobody wore #3 in 1965 of 1966. There are a few loose threads and minuscule stains, which could be attributed to the jersey being washed or possible use. Bob Robertson also wore #3 in 1967 and could have been given the jersey to wear, as he played in nine games that year following Walker's release. The jersey is in EXCELLENT condition.
