Armando Benitez was a relief pitcher who pitched for seven Major League teams, and with 289 saves, he is 32nd on the MLB all-time save list. Offered is a 1998 Armando Benitez Baltimore Orioles game used jersey. Born in the Dominican Republic, Benitez broke into the Major Leagues with the Baltimore Orioles played from 1994-98 with the Birds. He spent his next five seasons with the New York Mets and pitched for five other teams in a career that ended in 2008. Benitez has a 40-47 lifetime record with a career ERA of 3.13. In 1998, his last season with the Orioles, Benitez had a 5-6 record, with a 3.82 ERA and 22 saves. The displayed jersey has Orioles in script across the chest in sewn-on black with orange trim. On the left chest is 49 in sewn-on orange numerals with black trim. The left sleeve has the Orioles logo. The right sleeve has a Russell Athletic manufacturer's logo. The back nameplate has BENITEZ in sewn-on black letters with orange trim. Also, on back is 49 in sewn-on black numerals with orange trim. The left outside front tail has five tags: A Russell Athletic manufacturer's tag; A Diamond Collection size 50 tag; A 1998 year tag; A tag reading 100% Polyester; tag showing 2" Extra length. It has five white buttons down the front, plus a Velcro-style fastener.
