Terry Crowley played 15 seasons in the Major Leagues, and he was known as one of the best pinch hitters of his time. Presented is a 1981 Terry Crowley Baltimore Orioles game-used jersey. Crowley's career included: Baltimore Orioles (1969-73 & 1976-82), Cincinnati Reds (1974-75), Atlanta Braves (1976), Montreal Expos (1983). Crowley, who batted and threw lefty, played the outfield and first base, but his main role was that of a pinch hitter and also a designated hitter. In his career, Crowley batted .250, with 42 home runs and 229 RBIs. As a pinch hitter, he has 108 lifetime hits, 13th best in Major League history. In 1981, when Crowley wore the offered jersey, Terry batted .246, and he was 6-for-22 as a pinch hitter. After his playing career, Crowley became a hitting coach coach for Baltimore (for two stretches) and for the Minnesota Twins. The displayed home jersey has Orioles across the chest, in sewn-on orange script with black trim. Under the Orioles name is 10 in sewn-on orange numerals with black trim. On the back nameplate is CROWLEY in sewn-on orange letters with black trim. Under the nameplate is 11 in sewn-on orange numerals with black trim. On the underside of the right front tail is a tag showing "81.42.10" respectively showing year/size/player number. To the right of the aforementioned tag is a smaller tag showing SET 2. Another tag on the underside of the right front tail reads, 100% Polyester, and this tag provides washing instructions. The jersey is in EXCELLENT condition. Crowley was a 3-time World Series Champion, and Hall of Fame Orioles pitcher Jim Palmer said that Crowley was "a really great pinch hitter who studies opposing pitchers to get himself psyched to hit." This game-worn jersey also brings back some of the Baltimore Orioles glory days.
