This commemorative medallion has gone where few have gone before. This Robbins Medallions specimen was aboard the Apollo 14 moon mission and was one of only 303 sterling silver coins to make the journey. Oval artifact measures roughly 1.25" across, with "Apollo 14" and astronauts' names - Shepard, Roosa, Mitchell - around the border surrounding an image of the earth and moon. Back contains the full names of the participants - Alan B. Shepard, Stuart A. Roosa, and Edgar D. Mitchell - surrounding the mission info; Launched, Jan 13 1971; Landed Feb 5 1971, Returned Feb 9 1971. Coin is NM, and comes with Letter of Authenticity from Charles Conrad, Jr., stating that it was from his personal collection. Also comes with a paperback book detailing all such coins to have been brought on Apollo missions, with this particular specimen detailed on pages 25 and 36.
