Captioned iconic 1962 photo celebrates what may be one of basketball's unbreakable records, with Wilt Chamberlain scoring an even 100 points in a win over the New York Knicks. A smiling Wilt is shown holding a paper with the number "100" on it in this 7.25x9.25" black and white image. This is the original photo sent out on the wire after that March 2 blowout; wire-transmitted photographs, although vintage and printed at the time of the event, are considered Type III by PSA and this is encapsulated as such. Editors marks and date stamp of March 6, 1962, are on the back, photo remains very crisp and bright. With the Philadelphia Warriors comfortably ahead and The Big Dipper enjoying a typical high-scoring night against the undermanned Knicks, Chamberlain's teammates noted that he was within range of the century mark and spent much of the 4th quarter fouling Knicks players to allow for more offensive possessions, aiding Wilt in reaching a mark which has not been approached over five decades later (for reference, Kobe Bryant's 81-point game in 2006 stands second on the single-game all-time list).
