Very rare original Type I team photograph is a celebratory team photo of Indiana's 1954 Milan High School State Basketball Champions, which later served as the inspiration for the 1986 film, Hoosiers. Black and white photo is 8x10" and depicts players, coaches, and cheerleaders in a group shot following the club's victory in the 30th annual Ripley County Tournament during the 1953-1954 season. The team is posing on the court immediately after the win. Fans are visible in the background as well as a ladder in front of a bare rim, which once held the freshly-cut net (which is around a player's neck). There is a roughly 0.75" burn spot at the bottom right corner of the backboard which slightly bleeds through to the otherwise-blank back. A couple of wrinkles to the top and one small crease at the bottom right corner do not detract from this marvelous shot, as Milan High - with an enrollment of 161 students - later stunned the much larger Muncie Central High School in the state championship game, in what became known as the "Milan Miracle." Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic.
