Collection of forty photographs, each capturing New York Yankees Hall of Fame centerfielder Mickey Mantle. These photos originate from the personal collection of a former Boston sportswriter, who acquired most of them from either his newspaper's photo department, or the New York Yankees public relations department. Many are news photos (including wire photos, where the caption is embedded in the photograph), but publicity photos are also present. Mantle is captured both during and after his career, and both on and off the field, including at various New York Yankees Old Timers Day events. Most of the photos measure approximately 7x9" or 8x10", with the remainder either slightly smaller or larger. Because most are news photos, many display flaws consistent with their former use, including, but not limited to, trimming, creasing, crazing, edge tears, editorial shading and/or markings, pinholes, and writing on the reverse. Please note: none of the photos have been evaluated by PSA, therefore no guarantees are made regarding specific Type designations, however, we believe the majority are NOT Type I examples.
