Presented is a Jackie Robinson signed and inscribed Hall of Fame plaque postcard, one that shows Robinson's original HOF plaque. When Jackie Robinson was about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962, he insisted that his HOF plaque only contain information about his baseball achievements. Thus, to use a few examples, the depicted plaque lists Robinson as the NL's leading base stealer in '47 and '49, the '49 NL batting champ, and as the MLB MVP in '49. A new Robinson Hall of Fame plaque, originating in 2008, while still retaining much statistical information on Robinson, adds, "Displayed a tremendous courage and persistence in 1947 when he integrated the modern major leagues in the face of intense adversity." The offered postcard measures 3.4x5.4". Robinson signed and inscribed the postcard on the "address" side. Using a blue marker, Robinson wrote, "Best wishes Jackie Robinson." Robinson's large signature is slightly faded. The postcard's Robinson signature has been encapsulated and SGC certified as A AUTH.
