Displayed is a very rare 1959 Fleer The 3 Stooges card, #64 Checklist, a variation card with a checklist on the reverse. The '59 The 3 Stooges cards are one of the most popular non-sports card sets of all time. The set contains 96 cards. Card numbers 1-3 are vertical cards, with an individual shot of, respectively: Curly, Moe, and Larry. Card numbers 4-96 are horizontal cards, that show two or three of the 3 Stooges in a colorized scene from one of their movies. All 96 cards in the '59 set measure 2.5x3.5". The bottom front of each card has a title that relates to the colorized photo. The backs of the base cards have a humorous quotation that relates to the title on the card front. As a very rare variation, three of the cards occasionally have checklists on the back: Card #16 Tight Shoes - "You Can't Keep Your Money," Card #63 First Things First - "Curly The First Thing," and Card #64 - Half A Disguise "You Can't Fool Anybody." Fleer produced the cards on both white and gray card stock. The gray card stock cards are rarer because many of them have deteriorated, but the white card stock cards are more valuable because of their clean appearance. It is believed that only slightly more than 200 of each of the three checklist cards exist. The offered card, on white card stock, has been encapsulated and PSA graded EX-MT 6(MK).
