A pair of billiards immortals are featured in this lot of signatures of Willie Hoppe and Willie Mosconi. Having won 51 billiards titles between 1906 and 1952, Hoppe is still considered one of the best to ever play, being inducted into the Billiards Congress of America Hall of Fame in 1966. Promotional black and white 7.5x9.5" photo carries a replica inscription and signature, however this full piece is matted to 11x14" with a strong 7/10 cut black ink signature which has been inserted below the photo. Willie Mosconi was equally iconic, earning 19 Straight Pool World Championships between the years of 1941-57, and was one of the first inductees into the aforementioned Hall of Fame. In this offering, Mosconi has signed a cue ball in 6-7/10 blue ink, a fine specimen. In recent years, Mosconi Sharpie-signed numbered balls (with most inscribed "Fats Can't Shine My Shoes" in reference to his legendary rivalry with hustler Minnesota Fats) have circulated, but this is a vintage earlier autograph, not signed in Sharpie.
