Game used baseball from the perfect game tossed by David Wells, signed by the man known as "Boomer." Official American League (Budig) baseball is autographed by Wells in flowing 7/10 blue ballpoint ink and dated 5/17/98. Nice use is shown throughout, as the ball has been rubbed up for game use and has small areas of discoloration and even toning. Wells had to be sharp as his New York Yankees held a narrow 2-0 lead over the Minnesota Twins through 6 innings en route to a 4-0 triumph; for his part, the big lefty was a dominant force, recording 11 of his 27 straight outs via strikeout in becoming one of just 24 players to date to achieve pitching perfection.
