Displayed is a newly discovered Brooklyn Dodgers "Bum" pin. No year is indicated on the metal pin. There is a "Made in USA" printed on the rim. The offering is 0.8" in diameter. The front is a depiction of a baseball, in white, with blue "stitches." In the center of the pin is a caricature of the fabled Brooklyn "Bum," an unofficial symbol of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Above the caricature is machine printed BROOKLYN DODGERS and below the caricature is machine printed NATIONAL LEAGUE. The "bum" in green. In 1957, the Dodgers last season in Brooklyn, the team actually hired famous circus clown Emmett Kelly Jr. to provide entertainment for fans at the team's spring training home in Vero Beach, Florida, and at home games in Ebbets Field, Brooklyn. The back of the pin has an functioning stick pin and clasp so that the item can be attached to clothing and worn. The pin does exhibit a tiny scratch mark, but it is in overall excellent condition.
