San Francisco 49ers legend Jerry Rice is still considered one of - if not, THE - most dynamic and dependable wide receivers in NFL history, and this game worn jersey is an "apparent" match to the contest against the Green Bay Packers on November 1, 1998. White mesh top has Reebok size 46 collar tag, along with another reading "100% Poly - Blitz -2.'" Tail tag also reads Reebok size 46 along with the year, 1998. Oval 49ers logo is screened on each sleeve, and Rice's retired number 80 is on front, sleeves, and back in maroon-on-gold-and-black 3-D style numbering. Name is on a plate above the rear number in maroon-on-black (non-3-D) lettering. Really nice use is evident with dirt stains, scuffs, paint transfers, and loose threads. To clarify, per the included Letter of Opinion from Sports Investors Authentication, "the clarity of the photos and video from this game do not allow us to say with absolute certainty that this jersey is photo-matched. However, all evidence supports and suggests this being an apparent match..." to this jersey as referenced. In that contest, Rice reeled in 7 catches for 60 yards including a 12-yard TD reception from Steve Young, however Brett Favre threw for a pair of touchdowns and Reggie White's defense compiled 9 sacks as the Pack claimed a 36-22 victory at Lambeau Field. With a host of accolades to his credit, Rice remains the NFL's all-time leader in receptions (1,549), receiving yards (22,895), and career receiving touchdowns (197), nearly two decades after his retirement. Rice's touchdown pass from Steve Young in the November 1st contest was the pair's 80th TD combination, which broke an NFL record at the time.
