1977 game used signed bat is from the final season in the Hall of Fame career of Baltimore Orioles third baseman Brooks Robinson. Hillerich & Bradsby model S44 measures 35.0 inches in length and weighs 31.3 ounces, and is uncracked with outstanding use displayed including ball and stitch marks, bat rack transfer, and some sticky residue to the left of the trademark stamp; number 5 is on the knob in black marker. Brooks has scripted a large 6" autograph in black marker, earning an 8/10 rating. The enclosed PSA/DNA Letter affirms the specifications and game use and has issued an exceptional GU 9.5 grade to the bat (note that the LOA is for the bat only, not the signature). Considered possibly the best fielding third baseman of all time, Robinson conquered Municipal Stadium's rock-hard infield to the tune of 16 Gold Glove awards, the most of anyone to ever play third base and the second highest total overall to the 18 earned by pitcher Greg Maddux. At the age of 40, Brooks was on the way out in '77, making just 52 plate appearances, making this bat a rarity from his final playing days.
