As noted in print along the top, this was "The Brawl to Settle It All," with the date and venue of the event listed at the base. Wrestlemania I (known simply as "Wrestlemania" at the time), was seen by 19,121 fans live and over one million viewers on pay per view, making it the largest pay per view showing of a professional wresting card at the time. Promoted by the WWF (now the WWE), the event drew featured celebrities from the world of film/television (Mr. T) and music (Cindi Lauper) in its main storylines to help increase the viewership and broaden the fan base. Today, Wrestlemania has become the most heralded wrestling event of the year and a cultural institution in the sports/entertainment world. The poster, (23x29") printed on thick paper stock, displays wear commensurate with its former use, including moderate-to-heavy creasing, several small tears, and a few tiny stains along the perimeter areas.
