Spectacular panoramic photograph capturing thirty-five members of the 1949 Washington Redskins football team posing in front of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. Each player is identified in white lettering upon his respective image, including Hall of Fame quarterback Sammy Baugh, Dan Sandifer, Harry Dowda, Bob Goode, Eddie Saenz, and Tommy Mont. An inset photo of fullback Pete Stout appears in the upper left corner. The lettering along the base reads "Washington Redskins 1949." The photographer's credit, "Joe Tenschert," appears directly to the left of the team name. The Redskins finished 4-7-1 in 1949. Baugh was one of the lone bright spots for the team that year, passing for 1,903 yards and 18 touchdowns. The photo (43x9.5"; visible dimensions) displays a few light surface wrinkles which in no way detract from its apparent Near Mint appearance. Framed to total dimensions of 46.5x12.5". The size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
