Sadahara Oh is the greatest long ball hitter in Japanese baseball history. A former first baseman for the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball, Oh’s career spanned four decades (1959 to ‘80) in which he batted .301 but most notably launched an astounding 868 home runs. He was a 15-time home run champion in Japan and was named to the NPL All-Star team 18 times. He set many NPB batting records including runs batted in (2,170), slugging percentage (.634), bases on balls (2,390), and on-base plus slugging percentage (1.080). Following his playing career, Oh served as manager of the Giants from 1984 to ‘88 and was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994. He now serves as chairman of the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks. Offered here is a Japanese-branded baseball signed by Oh on one panel in black fiber-tip marker.
