Al Randolph was a 6’2” defensive back who played for the San Francisco 49ers from 1966 to 1970. During that time, he recorded five fumble recoveries and 10 interceptions for the Niners. This lot features a circa 1970 Al Randolph San Francisco 49ers game-worn jersey, a season in which the team finished with a 10-3-1 regular-season record and a first-place finish in the NFL West Division. Sewn onto the front left tail of the jersey is the official Wilson manufacturer’s tag that includes the jersey size (42). The red durene-style jersey shows heavy wear and game use with evidence of 11 team repairs on the right front shoulder and back as well as several embedded dirt and blood stains and loose threads throughout. Randolph’s uniform number 27 appears in white tackle twill sewn onto the front (nine inches tall) and back (10.5” tall), and on either sleeve (4.5” tall). Randolph’s nameplate appears to have been removed from the back. A great piece of game-used memorabilia from a hard-nosed player from yesteryear.
