Four-page fold-over contract between Carl Furillo and the Brooklyn National League Baseball Club, Inc. for the 1954 season, signed by each party. The contract, which is dated January 28, 1954, has been flawlessly signed in blue ink by "Carl Anthony Furillo" (grading 10/10) and Brooklyn Dodgers vice president "E. J. Bavasi" (9/10). The one-year agreement calls for Furillo to receive a salary of $29,000 for the season. Furillo was the reigning National League batting champion at the time he signed this contract, which, at the time, was the highest paying contract he had ever received from the notoriously penurious Dodgers. Furillo enjoyed another sold season in 1954, finishing the year with 19 home runs, 96 RBI, and a .294 average. The contract (8.5x11") displays a staple hole in the upper left corner and is otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA.
