Presented is a real treat for baseball aficionados, a 1972 original group color photo of Baseball Hall of Famers taken in Cooperstown, most likely in front of Lake Otsego, and signed in Cooperstwn in 1973. The photo has 17 autographs, 15 of those signatures from former players: Hank Greenberg, Lefty Gomez, Satchel Paige, Harry Hooper, William "Bill" Terry, Buck Leonard, Jesse Haines, Rube Marquard, Stanley Coveleski, Joe Cronin, Luke Appling, Waite Hoyt, Sam Rice, Stan Musial, Joe Medwick. In addition, also signing the photo: Bowie Kuhn, former Commissioner of Baseball and an inductee to the Hall of Fame as an executive, and Paul Kerr, former President of the Baseball Hall of Fame (1961-78). All of the signatures are in blue fine tip marker, except for the signatures of Harry Hooper, Stanley Coveleski and Paul Kerr, who signed in black pen or black fine-tip marker. The photo has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA certified as AUTHENTIC AUTO. The photo exhibits some very slight darkening but is in overall excellent condition. On the back, written in black fine-tipped marker by an unknown hand is "1971 Group P signed 1973." In addition to the signatures, the photo's value rests in a charm in its spanning time: Former players who competed against Babe Ruth are pictured with more modern players, including "youngster" Sandy Koufax, only 36 years old in 1972.
