Vintage autograph album featuring featuring forty-four signatures, most of which are those of members of the 1932 Chicago Cubs, including five Hall of Famers. All the signatures in this album were obtained personally by our consignor's father when he was a young boy. The family lived just blocks from Wrigley Field and her father was a frequent visitor to the park during his youth. Additional signatures in the album consist mainly of Boston Braves players, including Hall of Fame shortstop Rabbit Maranville. The inclusion of Boston Braves signatures is not surprising, since several of the pages are dated either May 13th or May 14th, 1932. Research indicates that the Cubs and Braves played a three-game series at Wrigley Field in Chicago from May 12th to May 14th in 1932. All the signatures, most of which appear individually on a single page, are scripted in pencil and grade 8/10 on average. The green soft-cover album (6.25x4.75") remains in Excellent condition overall. Chicago Cubs Players: Gabby Hartnett (twice), Kiki Cuyler, Rogers Hornsby, Billy Herman, Burleigh Grimes, Stan Hack (twice), Bill Jurges, Bob Smith, Johnny Moore, Bud Tinning (twice), Marv Gudat, Johnny Moore, Riggs Stephenson, Woody English, Rollie Hemsley, Charlie Root (twice), Pat Malone, Lon Warneke, Guy Bush, Charlie Grimm (coach), Jake May, Lance Richbourg, Red Corriden (coach), Zack Taylor, Charles O'Leary (coach), and Vince Barton. Boston Braves and Others: Rabbit Maranville, Wally Berger, Sam Leslie, Earl Clark, Doc Schaeffer, Fred Leach, Bobo Newsome, Fritz Knoethe, Ben Cantwell, and Hal Totten (sportscaster). Four additional signatures are either illegible or do not appear to be ballplayers. Full LOA from PSA.
