This great trove of Browns signings includes Hall of Famers: fullback Jim Brown, the all-time leading Cleveland rushing leader with 12,312 yards; Lou Groza, the Browns' placekicker and All-Pro offensive tackle who is the all-time Browns' scoring leader with 1,608 points; defensive end Willie Davis; quarterback Len Dawson, who found fame with the Kansas City Chiefs; guard Gene Hickerson; Chuck Noll, a guard and linebacker with the Browns who became a Hall of Fame coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Browns' stars signing the ball: quarterbacks Milt Plum and Jim Ninowski; flanker Ray Renfro; defensive backs Warren Lahr, Larry Benz, Kenny Konz, Junior Wren, and Jim Shofner; linebackers Vince Costello, Dave Lloyd, and Walt Michaels; offensive tackle Mike McCormick, flanker Preston Carpenter; defensive ends Jim Houston, and Paul Wiggin, fullback Ed Modzelewski; defensive lineman Big Sid Youngelman, and many more.
