Intricate detail throughout this spectacular lithograph pays a fitting tribute to the Golden Era of Buffalo Sabres hockey, specifically the 1970s-era trio known as the French Connection Line, featuring Rene Robert, Gilbert Perreault, and Rick Martin. Created by artist Ron Bailey from a photo of an April 1975 playoff game against the Montreal Canadians, the original was one of the few images capturing all three members of the famed line in their home whites. Elegantly framed to 36x28.5", the matte contains all three uniform numbers - 7, 11, and 14; representing Martin, Perreault, and Robert respectively. The latter two have signed over their number in 10/10 blue Sharpie while Robert, who died of a heart attack in 2011 at age 59, is represented by a swatch from a jersey contributed by his wife. Numbered as a limited edition 285/311, this is a fine memento of one of the most high-flying lines of the 1970s in all their glory. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity, which describes the creation of this portrait.
