Amazing 1974 USC Trojans football helmet game worn by defensive tackle George Stewart. Helmet is painted in "USC Cardinal" (red), with gold Trojan head logo on each side. Extensive use is shown, mask has been broken off (with remnants still under the screws) and right earflap padding is missing. Painted over on back is a Rawlings logo with size "7-5/8 - 7-3/4" sizing engraved. Written on inside top padding is "Big George 90" in black marker, and a piece of cloth tape near the missing ear pad reads "Stewart 90." USC topped #3 ranked Ohio State, 18-17, in the Rose Bowl on January 1, 1975, to earn the National Championship per the UPI coaches' poll. Sadly, just weeks later, Stewart suffered a heart attack and passed away at age 19; in 1979, his hometown Pasadena High School created a memorial award in his honor, which is still given to this day.
