"Mickey Mantle was the kind of player who could make you believe in the impossible," said Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. of the Hall of Fame New York Yankees center fielder. Presented are two Mickey Mantle signed Limited Edition, lifelike statues of the switch hitter with the most MLB home runs (536) in history. Mantle played his entire 18-year MLB career with the Yankees, and he helped the Bronx Bombers to seven World Championships. He was a 3-time AL MVP, a 20-time All-Star, and a Triple Crown winner. Each of the statues has a basically triangular base that is 5" at its widest and 7.75" at its longest. The base is 1" high. The Mantle figurine is approx. 7.5" high, and the figurine slides onto the separate base for display. The Mantle statue holds a beautifully detailed, detachable Hillerich and Bradsby 3.5" replica bat. In the statues, the muscles in Mantle's forearms seem alive as his taut muscles flex as he is ready to begin his swing. The Yankee pinstripes even display the slight folds and billowing sleeves of an actual, worn uniform. Mantle is even depicted with gray hair, as he had towards the end of his career. Mantle is batting right handed. The Limited Edition statues are numbers 905 and 906, out of 950. These are the large versions of the statue produced by the Savino Collection, (c) 1994. Mantle has signed a plaque at the base of each statue, using a blue, fine tip marker. The statues are in their original boxes and they are in MINT condition. Mantle has signed each statue in his meticulous, flowing, script.
