Original Type I photograph capturing Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey together in 1950. As noted by the vintage handwritten caption on the reverse, dated "1/24/50," Robinson is pictured signing his 1950 Brooklyn Dodgers contract, while Rickey indicates where to sign by pointing to the dotted line with his cigar. Robinson won the National League MVP Award in 1949 and was rewarded with a $35,000 contract, which was nearly double his previous season's salary. Four Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with the aforementioned handwritten caption. The photo (10x8") displays light creasing throughout, a few small areas of surface paper loss and tiny tears along the borders, and a small, white label affixed to the reverse. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
